It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing completely," stated Healy.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as leader.
