Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
